Event Rules & Code of Conduct

The following policies are intended to make sure all attendees and members of the public are safe and having fun during Last Caw Ltd events. In general, be considerate, respectful, and kind to those in attendance. Last Caw Ltd Staff is here to ensure everyone’s experience is a positive one, so please reach out with any questions, comments, or concerns at last.caw.events@gmail.com

General Rules

  1. The following “general rule” supersedes all others listed below and may be invoked at any time:
    1. Any action(s) or behavior(s) that causes significant interference with event operations, excessive discomfort to other attendees, or adversely affects Last Caw Ltd'’'s relationship with its guests, its Venues, or the public is strictly forbidden and may result in permanent suspension from all Last Caw Ltd Events.
  2. Follow all Venue rules
  3. What goes on in a space that is visible to the general public is of concern to both Last Caw Ltd and the Venue in that it may immediately and irreparably harm the public image and goodwill of Last Caw Ltd and/or the Venue.
    1. Attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property.
    2. The goal is to preserve freedom of expression without causing undue disturbance to other members, the general public, Last Caw Ltd Staff, Last Caw Ltd Volunteers, Venue Staff, and/or the Venue.
      1. Genitalia or their outline cannot be seen through the outfit.
    3. Last Caw Ltd Events are private events that utilize a public Venue.
      1. There are other guests, including those under the age of 18 (some events may state otherwise), in the Venue who are not here for the event.
      2. Please remember that behaviors and appearances of attendees may be the first impression of the furry fandom to a member of the public.
    4. The public cannot consent to provocative displays.
      1. Provocative displays include, but are not limited to, displays, behaviors, gestures, and speech that are erotic, racially disparaging, menacing, violent, or overtly disturbing in general.
      2. Explicitly sexual actions and behaviors are not permitted in public.
    5. Collars, leashes, pup hoods, harnesses worn over shirts, and non-revealing rubber are acceptable.
    6. It is not permitted to display any sign, symbol, or clothing that bears resemblance to or is commonly associated with any organization, party, or ideology affiliated or otherwise aligned with hate, violence, or discrimination against persons of a protected minority.
    7. The intent is to not stifle artistic and personal freedom but to ensure that the expression of said freedoms is appropriate for the audience.
  4. Do not steal, damage, or otherwise tamper with other people’s property.
  5. For the safety and comfort of attendees, pets, emotional support animals, and “off-duty” service animals are not allowed in the Venue, unless explicitly stated otherwise.
    1. Working/”on-duty” service animals are permitted in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
  6. No functioning or realistic firearm, sword, or other weapon may be carried or displayed in Venue space at any time at public or private events.
    1. Last Caw Ltd will explicitly state on the event’s information page if prop weapons are allowed.
      1. If prop weapons are allowed at a specific event, they will be checked by Last Caw Ltd Security Staff and/or Volunteers, and they will be secured from removable by a cord or tie (often referred to as “peace bonding”) that is applied or approved by event security.
  7. Harassing or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.
    1. Harassment is considered a serious breach of this code of conduct.
    2. Last Caw Ltd is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for all, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, disability, or physical appearance.
    3. We do not tolerate harassment of any kind of Venue attendees, Last Caw Ltd Staff, Last Caw Ltd Volunteers, or guests.
      1. This policy applies equally to attendees, Last Caw Ltd Staff, Last Caw Ltd Volunteers, contractors, and agents of Last Caw Ltd.
    4. If an attendee feels harassed or sees someone else being harassed, notify Last Caw Ltd Staff or Volunteers immediately.
      1. The sooner an issue is reported to Last Caw Ltd Staff or Volunteers, the more appropriately we can address it.
    5. If someone requests to be left alone, respect their wishes.
      1. Consent is absolute and can be revoked at any time.
      2. "No" means no. "Stop" means stop. "Go away" means go away. This is not open to discussion.
      3. Please ask first if there is uncertainty if someone wants to be hugged, touched, tackled, or pounced.
      4. Remember: "A costume does not imply consent."
  8. Do not do anything that risks or threatens the safety or well-being of anyone attending the event or the Venue.
    1. Aisles, corridors, and passages should be kept open and clear. Please be considerate of passersby and stay out of the way of traffic.
    2. If any Last Caw Ltd Staff or Volunteers believes, within reason, that an attendee is posing a potential danger to themself, other guests, or to property, they will be asked to cease immediately.
      1. If the behavior continues, their information will be noted, and they will be asked to leave.
    3. No water guns, silly string, nerf guns, or any thrown or projectile-type toy may be used in any area of the Venue, including its grounds.
      1. This rule does not apply for nerf gun battles or similar explicitly labeled events.
    4. Do not stand on chairs or tables. Attendees are held liable if injured while standing on chairs or tables. Please be responsible.
  9. Anything that is illegal outside the Venue is illegal inside the Venue.
    1. Recreational marijuana for those 21 and older is legal in Colorado but public consumption — smoking, eating, vaping, etc. — remains illegal.
      1. Usage of marijuana products is not permitted inside or outside the Venue space.
    2. Alcoholic beverages are only permitted in Venue space if sold by or served from a provider licensed for on-site consumption.
      1. Public intoxication is not permitted.
    3. Sale, distribution, use, or possession of controlled substances will not be tolerated at any Last Caw Ltd Event.
  10. Be respectful of artists. Do not take photographs, video recordings, or other media of their creative works or tables without first obtaining the artist’s explicit consent.
  11. Attendees and Vendors are responsible for damage to Venue property and/or equipment loaned to them.
    1. Property of the Venue is not to be modified in any way; holes, chips, paint, glue or other damages, including inappropriate or rough behavior.
    2. Attendees and Vendors should not apply stickers or other adhesives to any surfaces they do not own.
      1. Please contact Last Caw Ltd Staff if a Vendor table display requires the usage of tape, glue, push pins, or other similar adhesives or fasteners.
  12. Items and services that are illegal to possess or sell in the United States, State of Colorado, or the local municipality are prohibited in the Venue. This list also includes other prohibited items.
    1. Prohibited items may include but are not limited to:
      1. Hateful or bigoted imagery
      2. Depiction of real or fictional minors in adult situations
      3. Controlled substances
      4. Firearms
      5. Alcohol
      6. Weapons
      7. Flammable and incendiary items, other than candles and incense
        1. Candles and incense may not be lit for demonstration purposes
      8. Food items manufactured without FDA and/or local health inspector oversight
      9. NFT and AI art
      10. Any other items prohibited by the Venue, United States, State of Colorado, or the local municipality.

Associates of Last Caw Ltd
(vendors, volunteers, and anyone working for Last Caw Ltd)

  1. The Last Caw Ltd reserves the right to revoke Vendor status, Vendor Assistant status, Vendor Tables, or entire Vendorships, at any time for any reason, without refund.
  2. Five Senses Rule: Vendors’ table displays, merchandise, and Last Caw Ltd Staff and Volunteers should not annoy customers or other dealers with sight, sound, smell, taste, or touch.
    1. Specific concerns are bright flashing lights, loudspeakers, and strong scents. Video soundtracks, CD previews, video games, and other audio need to be kept at such a volume that they do not annoy customers or other dealers; headphones are recommended if audio is a primary selling point.
  3. Vendors maintain sole responsibility and liability to monitor, manage, and secure their valuables and stock at all times.
    1. All Vendors’ property left in the Venue is left at the Vendors’ own risk.
  4. Vendors are not permitted to resell or transfer their Vendors’ space.
  5. If Vendors are not already a registered business in Colorado, they need a Colorado Sales Tax Certificate.
    1. Sales, exchanges, and barter between Vendors are welcomed.
      1. Taxes must still be calculated appropriately.
    2. While all Vendors must pay appropriate Colorado sales tax, it is their choice if that sales tax cost is passed to the attendee purchasing goods, or included in listed prices.
  6. Vendors may accept payment in such a manner as they choose, so long as sales for sales tax is calculated in US dollars.
    1. Vendors are responsible for providing their own methods of bill exchange. Last Caw Ltd cannot provide change.
  7. The responsibility to ensure proper copyright of merchandise rests with Vendorships.
    1. Last Caw Ltd recommends Vendors research and be aware of the legality of copyrights, trademarks, works of parody, and fan art.
  8. All Venue areas are considered to be "PG" at all times, with the exception of events or exhibits that are specifically noted to be inappropriate for minors and access to which is controlled by Last Caw Ltd Staff, Volunteers, and/or the Venue.
    1. Vendors must be aware that members of the public will be present. All signs, banners, standing displays, etc. must abide by a strict "PG" or better rating.
    2. Artwork, clothing, or other items of an appropriate but adult content (18+) may be sold only if they are kept from public view and Vendors must verify age before sharing and/or selling adult content. Such items must be covered or similarly shielded.
    3. Artwork, clothing, and other items of an appropriate but adult content must be delivered to the customer in opaque packaging that obscures the adult content completely, such as a bag, envelope, or folder.
      1. If a customer has their own packaging, they may place it inside that instead.
    4. Last Caw Ltd holds each dealer responsible to ensure that minors are not permitted to view, handle, be sold, or be otherwise exposed to adult content.
  9. Last Caw Ltd is not liable, financially or otherwise, for the failure of any vendors to deliver on goods or services that have already been paid for.
    1. All transactions shall be handled between the merchant and the buyer.
    2. However, please notify Last Caw Ltd Staff or Volunteers of issues. Repeated offenses will be tracked so that we can better maintain the highest standards of trust and reliability at Last Caw Ltd Events.

Appeals and Disclaimers

  1. Violation of the terms described herein may result in immediate suspension or revocation of further attendance or participation in Last Caw Ltd Events.
    1. A suspension or revocation of participation means said attendee will be unable to attend any future Last Caw Ltd Events.
    2. Those suspended from events may appeal this suspension through Last Caw Ltd's communications email (last.caw.events@gmail.com) and handled at Last Caw Ltd's discretion.
  2. Last Caw Ltd has final authority on deciding the terms listed here, the definitions therein, what constitutes a violation of these terms, the specific penalties of violation per case, and whether an appeal can be made.
  3. Attendees assume all risks and accept sole responsibility for any injury (including, but not limited to, personal injury, disability, and death), illness, damage, loss, claim, liability or expense, of any kind, that attendee may experience or incur in connection with attending the event.
    1. Attendees hereby release, covenants not to sue, discharges and holds harmless Last Caw Ltd, its employees, agents, and representatives, of and from any such claims, including all liabilities, claims, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of or relating thereto.
  4. Last Caw Ltd is not responsible for lost or stolen personal property.
  5. Last Caw Ltd maintains sole ownership of its namesake assets, tangible property, finances, and iconography.
    1. Any tangible or intangible items donated to Last Caw Ltd enters into the sole discretion of Last Caw Ltd following the completion of the donation process.
    2. Cash or likewise currency donated to Last Caw Ltd is nonrefundable, unless otherwise stated.
      1. This includes the purchase of event admission where applicable.
    3. Last Caw Ltd company and event logos, mascots, and photos may be reposted and replicated for noncommercial purposes such as word-of-mouth advertisement, fan art, blogging, or social media publication.
      1. Usage of the above listed assets for noncommercial purposes grants implied license to Last Caw Ltd to likewise use any associated created media at Last Caw Ltd's discretion.
      2. Last Caw Ltd reserves the right to revoke or otherwise prohibit use of above listed assets at any time.
  6. We reserve the right to make adjustments or additions to these policies at any time, and attendees are always responsible for adhering to the current version of these policies.
    1. If any major policy changes are made, we will make every effort to announce the changes.
